Born and raised on the North Shore of O‘ahu, Jack Soren has always lived with the ocean at his doorstep. Surfing has been in his family for generations, and for Jack, the sea is more than a playground — it’s a spiritual place of healing, connection, and inspiration. Like many Native Hawaiians, Jack sees the ocean not just as a setting, but as a relationship: a place to honor his ancestors, recharge, and celebrate life.
That deep connection flows through his artwork. Known for his bold colors, playful forms, and layered references to Hawaiian culture and surf nostalgia, Jack creates pieces that are as alive as the landscapes and communities that inspire them. From watching his grandmother’s colorful abstract canvases, to the retro surf graphics and video games of his childhood, to the high-energy surf and skate culture of the North Shore, Jack’s creative language has been shaped by color, motion, and emotion. For him, color represents life — and every piece he makes is infused with that sense of vibrancy.
At the heart of this collaboration is Jack’s signature Squiggle Lei — a loose, abstract, and whimsical take on the traditional lei chain. Where many designers focus on literal flowers, Jack chose to reinterpret the lei as something playful and unexpected, while still respecting the cultural spirit it represents. In Hawaiian tradition, a lei is given with intent and love, marking moments of gratitude, celebration, and connection. Jack’s Squiggle Lei carries that same spirit — joyful, colorful, and full of meaning.
Applied to surfboard fins, the Squiggle Lei becomes more than just a design. It becomes a symbol of navigation — a way to celebrate the joy of surfing and the gratitude we carry for the ocean with every ride. Each fin is cut from a different section of the artwork, making every piece a one-of-a-kind original. No two fins are ever the same, just like no two waves are ever the same.
